 Gorgeous Venue, Ernie and Barb won’t let your wedding fail If you’re weighing venue options and feeling the anxious about all the coordination that comes with planning a wedding, let me make it simple: book The Oak Barn at Loyalty because the venue is gorgeous and Ernie and Barb (the owners) are fantastic to work with. From our very first visit, Ernie and Barb had a way of making is feel like our wedding was a genuine priority, not just another date on the calendar. That sense of security shaped every decision we made leading up to the day. We knew that whatever vendors we chose, whatever small things went sideways, Ernie and Barb were not going to let our wedding fail. They’re more than willing to let you customize just about anything you want, and always ready with a great recommendation if you’re not sure about something. We ended up booking almost all of our vendors from their curated list of recommendations (Dapper DJs, Classic Catering, all Pro Charters) - all of which worked out perfectly.  It ended up raining on our wedding day, but rather than panic, we watched Ernie and Barb work seamlessly alongside our coordinator to adapt, problem-solve, and keep the day moving.  The result? An absolutely fantastic wedding.  Aside from that - they’re just a lovely couple who were easy and fun to interact with. You really get the feeling they host weddings because they enjoy making the couple’s wedding day special.

My husband and I could not have picked a better venue to have our wedding at, or a better couple to work with than Barb and Ernie. The Oak Barn was the first venue we visited and after we left our visit we knew it was our venue. Barb and Ernie are both professional and straightforward but also such warm and welcoming people. They kept us up to date on our deadlines and were always a text or call away throughout the planning process if we needed help. We felt confident that they would take care of us on our big day and felt completely relaxed during our wedding knowing they had everything under control. A couple of guests even mentioned to us after the event that they loved talking to both of them during our reception and ceremony. We were so glad they were watching over us and making everyone feel at home! We would be remiss if we didn’t mention how wonderful the entire venue is as well. The Oak Barn is BEAUTIFUL and the property is one of a kind. We loved the mountains in the background and were also told by our guests how special they thought the scenery was. We could go on and on about the location and views but you’ll have to see it for yourself! There is so much more to be said about Barb and Ernie, but we will conclude by saying that we consider Barb and Ernie friends after working with them for the past year and miss planning our wedding alongside them. You will not regret having your wedding at the Oak Barn!

The property is absolutely beautiful and spacious — it comfortably fit our 150 guests, and the mountain views were truly the reason we fell in love with the venue. The barn itself is stunning inside and made for such a warm, elegant atmosphere. Barb and Ernie are wonderful owners and were so attentive throughout the entire process. They genuinely care about their couples and took the time to make sure everything ran smoothly the day of, including coordinating with vendors and keeping things on schedule. They also take such pride in maintaining the property, and it really shows. One of the biggest conveniences for us was that the Oak Barn only hosts one wedding per weekend. This took so much stress out of the logistics — we were able to drop off decorations on Friday during our rehearsal and then pick up anything we couldn’t fit in the car on Sunday. It felt relaxed and unrushed, unlike other venues that try to fit in as many weddings as possible.  There are truly no words that can fully capture how perfect our wedding day was at The Oak Barn at Loyalty. Yes, the venue itself is absolutely stunning—rolling hills, mountain views, the most charming Amish-built barn, and thoughtful spaces for every part of the day. But what truly sets this venue apart are the owners, Ernie and Barb.

From the moment we toured the venue, we knew we were in the best hands. Ernie and Barb are two of the kindest, most organized, and detail-oriented people I’ve ever met. They were with us every step of the way—before, during, and after the wedding—ensuring that everything ran seamlessly. Their calm presence and clear communication allowed me to truly relax and enjoy every second of the day, knowing that they had every detail handled. And they absolutely delivered.

The space itself is incredibly versatile and thoughtfully designed. Our ceremony felt intimate and picturesque with the stunning backdrop of the mountains. Our guests enjoyed a beautiful cocktail hour with plenty of space to mingle, and the barn was the perfect setting for an unforgettable reception. We also loved adding personal touches like a cigar bar near the fire pit, which created such a cozy, fun atmosphere for guests to unwind later in the evening.

The Oak Barn at Loyalty is more than just a venue—it’s a labor of love, and you can feel that in every inch of the space and every interaction with Ernie and Barb. They made our dream wedding come to life in a way we could have never imagined. Everything was perfect.

If you are considering getting married here — stop looking. You’ve found the place. I cannot recommend it enough.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect location for our October 2024 wedding. The Oak Barn was the third and final venue we toured, and we are so grateful that there was one fall date still available for booking. Barb and Ernie were not only professional, but extremely kind and thoughtful. It was clear from our tour that they love what they do, and they truly care about the experiences of the couple and their guests. We appreciated the preferred vendors list and how involved Barb and Ernie were in the planning process. The Oak Barn is absolutely stunning year-round (although I'm partial to the fall foliage), and we received so many compliments on the venue from our guests. I 100% recommend The Oak Barn, and would get married there again if I could! Thank you, Barb and Ernie, for making our dream wedding come true!

 Amazing Venue and Awesome Owners

Best venue and owners ever!! To begin, this wedding venue is absolutely beautiful. The property, the views, and the barn's indoor and outdoor space is all amazing. The lovely couple that owns the barn and the property were fantastic throughout the whole planning process. They were there for everything and went above and beyond what we would have expected from owners. My daughter's wedding day ended up being a rainy day and several days before, we had to come up with new plans. The owners began immediately figuring out things that needed to be done and did them! They added a cover outside the door the bride would come through and ordered a ton of umbrellas. The night ended up being perfect even with the rain due to all their forward thinking. They even set up tables and chairs so it would all be perfect inside before the caterers even arrived. I am sure there is so much more I could write. Best Rain Plan Ever!

I cannot imagine a better venue to get married at or better venue owners to work with! Barb and Ernie were nothing but supportive and accommodating through the entire process. They are full of knowledge and experience which made me feel so relaxed and worry-free on my big day.
We got married during tropical storm Opehlia and of course, I was stressed in the week leading up because of all of the complications of the impending rain and wind. I arrived at my rehearsal to find that Ernie had spent the day completely setting up the inside of the barn so I could experience how the day would work with the change to an indoor ceremony. It brought tears to my eyes to see how much work they both put in to make sure my wedding day was perfect, even in a storm. Gorgeous Venue Great Owners!

 Book this venue, right now, you will not regret it! Barb and Ernie, the owners, are simply the best. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and the owners being so genuine, nice, and accommodating is just an added bonus. Even with intermittent showers on my wedding day, I couldn’t have asked for a better day, because of all they did before and during to make everything go smoothly. Barb and Ernie went above and beyond to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. The beauty of the venue speaks for itself, and our wedding day was simply like a fairytale because of the owners. Also, we booked a few of their recommended vendors and loved them all. Thank you just isn’t enough!

Picture perfect wedding venue!

Picturesque views, peaceful and serene setting, beautifully maintained gardens, and gracious and detailed orientated hosts/owners! This is everything you could want in your wedding venue and Barb and Ernie (venue owners) make the process easy. They work with you if you have any special requests. We had access to the venue for the entire weekend which makes the days leading up to it less stressful. They do not rush you through your wedding day events (rehearsal and big day) and work to make sure everything is just as you imagined. The property is maintained to make all your photo dreams come true. The inside of the barn has the perfect amount of space to be cozy and comfortable with your guests without feeling claustrophobic and air conditioning to keep it cool in the warmer months. The upstairs makes for great pictures during wedding activities. The property is not close to a busy road so you do not hear any car traffic (great if you have a videographer) and allows you to hear during the ceremony without amplification. We could call and come up to the venue at any point to do a walk throughs with other vendors, or to measure for rental pieces. Barb and Ernie were there to welcome and chat any time. We loved our experience at The Oak Barn at Loyalty and would highly recommend to anyone. We look forward to being to go back as guests to The Oak Barn in the future.

Stunning Views, Amazing People

The Oak Barn is nothing short of spectacular – Nothing I say here will be effusive enough to convey what an absolute pleasure it was to get married here. Due to Covid, my wife and I were engaged for 3 years and we only found the Oak Barn after our initial venue fell through because of shifting dates. As the old saying goes, ‘everything happens for a reason’ – I am so incredibly thankful that we had to pass on our first venue because we would never have even found this place. While I could go on at length about why you need to book this place TODAY, the top three reasons are: 1) The Setting: The Oak Barn is nestled at the foot of the Bull Run Mountains and overlooks Loudon Valley. This picturesque piece of land is pushed back from the road and is surrounded by dense trees that were dazzling shades of vermillion, crimson, and amber at the time of our fall wedding. The property is secluded and feels intimate, unlike many of the other northern VA venues which tend to be close to roads or other places of business. I believe the word “magical” was used by more than a few of our guest. 2) The Space: Let me start by saying - the eponymous ‘Oak Barn’ is absolutely fantastic. Built by Amish labor, the barn sits at the heart of the property and lends a feeling of strength, stability, and character. In addition to the barn, bridal/groom suites, the patio, and even the covered firepit lend an air of old-world sophistication and class. The space is also incredibly adaptable - we decked the barn and patio in more flowers than I have ever seen in one place in my life. The effect was stunning: guests were transported to a French countryside, the air redolent of peony and eucalyptus. One thing is clear - this isn’t like “other barn venues”. 3) TheStaff: This is it – the X-factor. Over what turned into quite a long engagement, Barb and Ernie became like family to us. Ernie’s enthusiasm and ‘joie de vivre’ as he walks you through the property is infectious. Barb’s nurturing altruism and support will make you feel as if you are visiting home. These are wonderful people and the importance of the “people” that make up your list of vendors cannot be overstated. If you made it to this point in my review – What are you doing?
